Spurs' Wembanyama, Mayor Nirenberg on hand at International School of San Antonio's LabelFrancÉducation accreditation

The Spurs rookie helps celebrate the International School of San Antonio's milestone.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio Spurs' Victor Wembanyama was joined by Mayor Ron Nirenberg and French Consul General Valerie Baraban to celebrate the International School of San Antonio's LabelFrancÉducation accreditation.

According to its website, the "LabelFrancÉducation" seal is granted to schools promoting French language and culture as part of their specific curriculum.

"LabelFrancÉducation" is granted by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs based on the advice of an inter-ministerial advisory committee.

So it made sense that the French-born NBA player was in attendance to see the school's milestone moment.

Wembanyama shook hands with the Mayor and both Nirenberg and Baraban received his jersey. The Spurs rookie also met with the students.
