SAN ANTONIO — The NBA has released the third fan returns for the NBA 2024 All-Star voting and San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama continues to receive plenty of votes keeping himself in the race to make it on the starting squad.
Wemby has received a total of 601, 208 fan votes good for eighth in the West Frontcourt. It puts him ahead of OKC's rookie Chet Holmgren (9) and Domantas Sabonis (10).
The rookie is certainly putting up solid numbers and is must-see television as well as a must-buy ticket to see in person.
Currently, he is posting 19.8 points per game along with 10.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 46% field goal shooting, and 3.1 blocks.
He also notched his first NBA triple-double versus the Pistons with 16 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists. It is the second-fastest triple-double in NBA history and he is the youngest player in NBA history to record a triple-double with 0 turnovers since turnovers were first tracked in 1977-78.
Also, he's recorded 25-plus points in his third straight game against Boston.
NBA announced that All-Star Voting will conclude on Saturday, Jan. 20 at 11:59 p.m. ET. Tomorrow (Friday, Jan. 19) will be the final “3-for-1 Day,” when each fan vote counts three times. Fans account for 50% of the vote to determine the starters.
Should he make the West squad as a rookie it will not only be a major accomplishment for him, but he will also join Tim Duncan who is the last player the Spurs drafted No. 1 overall to make the All-Star Game as a rookie.
