SAN ANTONIO — You cannot blame this card collector for going bonkers after pulling a 1-of-1 San Antonio Spurs' Victor Wembanyama autographed rookie card.
And it was all caught on video.
During a Topps basketball card box break, a card collector ripped packs and shuffled through the cards with no luck.
Then, he picked up a stack of cards, shuffled through them, hit on a rare Wemby card, and lost his mind!
"WEMBANYAMA," he yells repeatedly as he cannot believe his eyes at his stroke of luck.
Another reason he lost his mind was the financial value. No one should be surprised that the card could be worth thousands of dollars once evaluated.
But he wasn't the only one to pull rare Wembanyama cards.
According to Topps, a father and son recently pulled another rare Wembanyama card from the 2024 Topps Chrome Basketball card set.
It was the Wemby orange rookie autographed card numbered out of 25.
"This father & son duo just pulled a Victor Wembanyama Topps Chrome Orange Rookie Auto /25 from their local hobby shop. Their hobby shop (BodegaCards) called it 'the biggest hit in shop history,'" Topps shared.
Closer to San Antonio, a father and son pulled a Wemby rookie card during a live box break on Locked On Spurs.
What made it extra special was that it was the last card in the last pack before they celebrated the find.
Anything with Wemby's autograph will earn the most money, especially in low numbers. Even cards of him in a Yankees baseball jersey are worth much money.
