SAN ANTONIO — You don't have to be a sports fan to love this. Check out a video that Spurs point guard Dejounte Murray tweeted out Sunday. It shows him giving his younger brother a brand new purple Dodge Challenger for graduating from Brandeis High School in San Antonio.
The tweet reads: "I’m a proud big brother. This (is) what making honor roll with a GPA 3.8 and being the most respectful young man will get you. I love you baby brother."
Murray's younger brother, Nate, moved to San Antonio to live with Dejounte after having a hard time back home in Seattle, according to a post Sunday from the older brother.
Murray was born and raised in Washington, before starring for the University of Washington for one season. He was selected by the Spurs with the 29th pick in the 2016 NBA Draft. By his second season in the NBA, he was named Second Team All-Defense, making him the youngest player in NBA history to be named to an All-Defense team.
Murray missed the entire 2018-19 season after suffering a torn ACL in the preseason, but NBA analysts expect him to be a key part of the Spurs' plans in the future.
