New Wembanyama mural pops up in San Antonio; Spurs players help provide beds for children in need

The NBA's reigning Rookie of the Year is the centerpiece of another San Antonio mural created in his honor.

SAN ANTONIO — Spurs fans have a new Victor Wembanyama mural to visit and snap a photo with in San Antonio.

This new mural, created by local muralist Alan Calvo, is located at Gil's Tire Shop (6239 San Pedro). It foregrounds the young star center against low-riders, the Tower of the Americas and Tower Life Building.

It's just one of many new murals popping up throughout the city lately depicting Wemby and other members of the Silver & Black.

Another work of wall art features Wembanyama in a spacey vibe, located at Southtown 101. Drive over to 802 San Pedro, and you'll spot one with the likeness of future Hall of Famer Chris Paul.

You can find a massive one at Rudy's Seafood restaurant on the south side and more across downtown.

SPURS PLAYERS TEAM WITH ASHLEY HOPE TO HELP LOCAL KIDS

The Spurs are stepping up once again this holiday season, having partnered and Sleep in Heavenly Peace to provide beds for needy children in San Antonio.

At the event, Spurs and Ashley's staff volunteered to assemble beds at the Sleep in Heavenly Peace warehouse. Afterward, players Sandro Mamukelashvili and Julian Champagnie delivered the beds to needy families. The pair even took time to hoop with the kids.

Last year, this endeavor served over 21,000 youth, families and organizations in 11 zip codes.
