All is fair in love and war -- and football, right?

FRISCO, Texas — Everyone loves a happy ending -- and it looks like we got one here at WFAA.

Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs made a point to forgive and forget with Sports Anchor Mike Leslie after a fiery post-game exchange on Sunday night.

The exchange garnered national attention and it all started after Leslie posted the following tweet during the Cowboys' loss to the 49ers:

Diggs took exception to this comment and approached Leslie after the game, telling the seasoned anchor that he didn't know football.

After a bit more back and forth on X with Diggs' teammate Micah Parsons, Leslie returned to The Star in Frisco on Wednesday for media availability with Diggs.

"We were playing football," Diggs said while looking at Leslie. "From my point of view, I didn't think I did anything wrong. But everyone has their own opinion."

Leslie dove deeper into the play and mentioned to Diggs that people were saying he was jogging to prevent the cutback of TE George Kittle during the lengthy run, to which Diggs agreed.

However, despite Diggs' consistent perspective on the play, he told Leslie, "I shouldn't have reacted how I reacted. I apologize for that."

After the questions were over for Diggs, he pulled out a couple of canisters of Dee's Nuts, which was a play on his comment for Leslie to "talk about these nuts," and he allowed him to take his pick on the flavor.

Leslie ended up choosing the ranch-flavored version.

"My bad, man," Leslie told Diggs. "If I misread the play, I appreciate you apologizing and I'm sorry too."

After this nicer exchange, the two hugged it out.

So, while there's not a lot going well for the Cowboys right now, at least we were able to douse the flames of one little fire!
