ARLINGTON, Texas — In a play where Dallas Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb could have caught a wide-open pass, he instead dropped it. Lamb claims the sun is to blame.
When asked if he supports the idea of curtains to block out the sun at AT&T Stadium, Lamb said it has his support, "1,000%."
The man who runs the show, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, sang a different tune.
Jones has long stood firm on the anti-curtain side of the aisle. In the past, Jones has said the sunlight beaming into AT&T Stadium during afternoon games creates an equal disadvantage for both teams. After Sunday's loss to the Eagles, Jones stood firm by that
"By the way, we know where the sun is going to be when we decide to flip the coin or not," Jones said. "So we do know where the damn sun is going to be in our own stadium."
When asked about the potential for curtains, Jones responded, sarcastically.
"Well let's tear the damn stadium down and build another one," Jones told reporters. "Everybody has got the same thing. Every team that comes in here has the same issues."
The stadium has curtains and has used them in the past to shield concerts and other events from the blinding setting, but never for a Cowboys game.
