Texans look to bounce back as Jags visit NRG Stadium | Watch the game LIVE on KENS 5 at noon

Houston is coming off a loss to Minnesota. The Jags come to town with an 0-3 record.

HOUSTON — The Houston Texans hope to bounce back today in their AFC South division showdown with the Jacksonville Jaguars at NRG Stadium. It's a game you can watch live on KHOU 11 at noon.

Houston is coming off a blowout 34-7 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, the first blemish on their record after starting the season with wins over Indianapolis and Chicago.

Injuries are part of football and the Texans have had their share so far. Last week, running back Joe Mixon was out after an ankle injury suffered in the Bears game. He did get limited practice on Friday, but according to ESPN's Adam Schefter and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, he's out today.. His backup, Dameon Pierce, is also out with a hamstring injury. That means Cam Akers will be the go-to for the Texans at running back. They also elevated J.J. Taylor from the practice squad.

As for wide receivers, Tank Dell is out with a chest injury, but Nico Collins -- who was dealing with a hamstring issue -- was a full participant in practice on Friday, so he will likely be a target for quarterback CJ Stroud.  Tight end Dalton Schultz was working through an ankle injury. He, too, was a full practice participant Friday and should be available.

Looking at their opponents, the Jags sit at 0-3 so far this season behind former No. 1 pick Trevor Lawrence. Lawrence himself has lost eight straight starts dating back to last season. It's one of the longest losing streaks by a quarterback drafted No. 1 in NFL history.  But as Jason Bristol explains in the video below, that puts the Jags quarterback in good company and if history repeats, he's going to be just fine.
