DALLAS — Former Dallas Stars player Mike Ribeiro pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of indecent assault Monday in connection with the assault of a woman at a northeast Texas lake in 2021.

Ribeiro, who played with the Dallas Stars for six seasons, previously faced three charges for alleged assaults — one on a boat and the other on a jet ski — from June 20 and June 21 in 2021 at Lake Cypress Springs in Franklin County, Texas. Lake Cypress Springs is about 90 miles east of Dallas.

The attempted sexual assault allegedly took place on June 23, 2021, according to the indictment.

Ribeiro was indicted on the charges last year.

A jury found Ribeiro not guilty of two counts of sexual assault in February, but the jury was deadlocked on a third charge of attempted sexual assault, according to the Franklin County District Clerk.

Ribeiro was convicted of indecent assault, given credit for a day spent in jail and ordered to pay a $4,000 fine and court fees, court documents show.

The Montreal Canadiens traded Ribeiro to the Stars on Sept. 30, 2006. He led Dallas in points in the 2006-2007 season and, in July 2007, was signed to a one-year extension for $2.8 million. In 2008, he played in the NHL All-Star Game. He would continue to play for the Stars until June 2012, when he was traded to the Washington Capitals.
