PARIS, France — Sha'Carri Richardson was not on the purple track alongside Team USA's Gabby Thomas to race in the women's 200-meter finals Tuesday.

Richardson, who already earned a silver medal in the 100-meter dash on Saturday, did not earn a spot in the event after finishing fourth at the U.S. track trials earlier this summer.

Thomas, who's entered the 200-meter race as the favorite, finished in 21.83 seconds on Tuesday to add a gold to the bronze she took home in the event from Tokyo three years ago.

Without a spot on the 200-meter event, Richardson's only shot at an individual Olympic medal was the 100-meter dash.

The 24-year-old was beat by Julien Alfred, who gave Saint Lucia its first ever Olympic medal with her victory. Alfred got off to a fantastic start, then powered through the rain and beat Richardson by .15 seconds — about three body lengths.

It was the biggest margin in the women’s Olympic 100 since 2008.

What remaining Olympics events will Sha'Carri Richardson participate in?

Richardson has one more shot at an Olympic medal before she heads home.

She'll compete in the women's 4x100m relay. Qualifying rounds for the event begin on Thursday, Aug. 8 while the finals is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 9 at 1:30 p.m. Eastern.

If Team USA advances, it's likely we'll see Richardson race in the relay.

What time is the women's 200m final?

The women's 200-meter final will begin at 3:40 p.m. EDT at the Stade de France.

Thomas previously won bronze in the event in Tokyo. She cruised through the semifinal in 21.86 seconds.

Jamaican sprinter Shericka Jackson, the defending world champion, pulled out of the event Sunday. It left Thomas as a clear favorite for the event.
