Bill Raleigh has served as a coach and administrator in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference since 1996.

KANSAS CITY, MO - Schreiner University Athletics Director Bill Raleigh has been named a "Guardian of the Game" by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).

"Guardians of the Game" is a national awareness and education program of the NABC that focuses attention on the positive aspects of basketball and the role coaches play in the lives of student-athletes.

"I am humbled and honored to be recognized by the NABC with the Guardian of the Game award for advocacy," Raleigh said in a press release. "I have had the honor of being called a coach for over 25 years. To be recognized by fellow coaches from contributions to the student-athletes and the profession is very special."

The award will be presented at the 2018 AT&T NABC Guardians of the Game Awards Show on Sunday, April 1, at the Lila Cockrell Theater in the Henry B. Gonzales Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas.

Raleigh has served as a coach and administrator in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference since 1996. He is currently a member of the NCAA Men's Basketball Rules Committee, and has also served as a congressman for the NABC in Division III, a member of the NABC Division III All-America Committee and has played an integral role with the Division II All-Star Game Committee.

Raleigh retired from coaching in 2014 and became the Director of Athletics for Schreiner this past August.
