SAN ANTONIO — Bella Flemings, Brennan's leading scorer all season long, was held to just seven points on 3-for-13 shooting as the Bears' playoff run came to an end at the hands of South Grand Prairie, 53-42, Friday evening at the Alamodome.
Brennan went 32-4 this season, a campaign that saw them make the state tournament for just the third time since 2013. The South Grand Prairie Warriors will go on to face Duncanville in the 6A State Final on Saturday evening.

The Bears tried to pick up the slack on offense, with a trio of players – Taylor Ross, Mahogany Pierce and Tyra Sotelo – each scoring 11 points for Brennan. The Warriors were led by 24 points from Taylor Barnes.
The first quarter was competitive, with both teams trading the lead and Sotelo getting things started for the Brennan offense with a 3. The frame ended with a two-point advantage for South Grand Prairie, but it was the Warriors' dominant second frame in which they outscored Brennan 17-5 that put things out of reach early.
The Bears' 27-13 halftime deficit proved too big a hole for them to climb out of, despite a better mark from the charity stripe and advantages on second-chance points and turnovers. Brennan's 42 points amounted to the team's fourth-lowest scoring output this season.
