SAN ANTONIO — A man is dead after he lost control of his bike and collided with a vehicle on the city's northwest side.
Around 1:30 p.m. on Friday, the San Antonio Fire Department responded to the 5600 block of Evers Road after receiving reports of a crash involving a pedestrian.
Authorities said their preliminary investigation shows the bicyclist was traveling southbound on Evers Road when he lost control of his bike and collided with the side of a vehicle traveling northbound. The bike reportedly got stuck under the vehicle and the bicyclist hit his head on the ground.
The bicyclist was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities have yet to provide an identification of the bicyclist.
