SAN ANTONIO — An 18-wheeler was seen lying on its side after overturning on the Interstate 35/Loop 410 interchange at Binz-Engleman on Thursday afternoon, shutting it down to traffic as authorities responded.

The stretch of road was closed off shortly after 4 p.m. It's unknown as of now what happened to cause the accident, nor if any injuries have been reported.

Drivers are being asked to find alternate routes as the scene may take several hours to fully clear, San Antonio authorities say.

No other vehicles were visibly involved in the accident. The big rig was carrying nearly 80,000 pounds of scrap metal.
