SAN ANTONIO — A suspect is on the run after causing a major accident on the northwest side early Saturday morning, according to authorities.

At about 12:27 a.m., a 39-year-old woman was stopped at a red light in her white Jeep at the 100 block of St. Cloud and Bandera Road. She was intending to go south.

A white Silverado with two occupants was driving northwest bound on the 600 block of Bandera approaching the intersection the Jeep was on. Police say the Silverado ran the red light and was hit by the Jeep.

The Silverado was redirected to the eastbound lanes of Bandera and hit a black Kia with an 84-year-old man and an 89-year-old woman inside.

The driver of the Silverado fled on foot, failing to stop and render aid to his 24-year-old passenger and the other four people harmed.

Police say all the victims sustained minor injuries, with a few heading to the hospital for precautionary measures.

The suspect faces five charges of collision involving injury once they are found. Police have not released anything about the appearance of the suspect or any other information about them.

This crash remains under investigation.
