SAN ANTONIO — According to AAA, 3.8 million Texans will drive 50 miles or more away from their homes this Thanksgiving. Roads will be busy and our weather team expects an active weather pattern this week.
This week is starting off hot with some communities in the low 90s Monday afternoon!
It will stay unseasonably warm Tuesday afternoon ahead of a cold front. Temperatures will rebound back into the upper 70s and low 80s under a mostly cloudy sky. A few showers are also possible, but a lot of us will stay dry.
Stay weather aware if you're traveling east. You may run into a few delays due to thunderstorms, high wind gusts, and heavy rain. There is a level two "Slight Risk" for Arkansas, Missouri, Western Mississippi, Western Tennessee, and Louisiana. This means isolated severe thunderstorms are possible Tuesday afternoon and evening.
Primary concerns will high winds gusts, quarter size hail, and a few tornadoes are also possible.
Severe weather is not expected for San Antonio on Tuesday and Wednesday. However, pockets of blinding rain and lightning are possible both days.
Temperatures will fall into the upper 50s and low 60s midweek as a cold front moves in Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.
Keep the umbrella within arm's reach on Thanksgiving! Rain coverage will increase as another system moves in from Mexico Wednesday night into Thursday.
High temperatures climb to near 70 degrees on Thanksgiving. Clouds will hang around Thursday afternoon with scattered showers and a few thunderstorms.
Stay safe on roads if you're traveling this week! Remember: If your windshield wipers are on, your headlights should be on, too.
