SAN ANTONIO — Winter is making a comeback in San Antonio as a cold front arrives beginning 2022.
San Antonio has been experiencing above average temperatures for majority of December, but two cold fronts are moving through the city this week. One of them swept through on Tuesday, resulting in a burst of drier air and not making much of a dent on the thermometer.
But this weekend's front will bring a major shot of cold air to the Alamo City.
On Saturday, the first day of the new year, a cold front will move through San Antonio overnight to Sunday morning. This front is stronger and should bring a big taste of winter with high temperatures forecasted to drop over 20 degrees by Sunday.
One forecast model suggest Sunday's high temperature will only be around 58 degrees. However, temperatures could drop even lower.
Drier air and windy conditions will also come with the front.
Both fronts are not forecasted to bring rain.
