SAN ANTONIO — If you've broken out in a sweat while picking pumpkins or waiting in line at the haunted house lately, it isn't just you.

Summer has insisted on sticking around this October; 94.3 degrees has been the average high this month in San Antonio, far higher than the historical average high of 84.6 for the first two weeks of the month, per the National Weather Service.

But relief is finally coming this week, for anyone concerned that their Halloween outfits might be too bulky to pull off in a couple weeks. A Texas fall cold front will drop afternoon highs from 95 degrees Tuesday to 80 on Wednesday, and potentially even into the 70s if some models pull through. That's thanks to upper-level winds blowing through.

Weather Impact Alert Days have been issued for Wednesday, Oct. 16 due to gusty winds and low humidity likely causing high to very high fire danger and a big change in the weather.

Lower humidity levels will make it feel even cozier outside, with dew points in the 40s until at least Friday. Rain chances aren't expected to return until the end of the week.

Here's a day-by-day breakdown of what to expect:

Wednesday: High of 80, low of 64. The big temperature drop arrives, and moderate wind gusts reaching 25 mph will only make it feel even more like fall.

Thursday: High of 81, low of 57. Another cozy day of drastically lower afternoon highs than we've experienced lately, with east-southeasterly wind gusts of about 10 mph to boot. An added spectacle: Thursday night will bring the next 100% full supermoon, which will appear 7% bigger and 15% brighter than usual.

Friday: High of 82, low of 63. Rain chances of about 20% return for the afternoon under partly sunny skies; expect wind gusts as high as 25 mph.

Saturday: High of 85, low of 66. Temps start to slowly warm back up while still staying around average highs for this time of year in San Antonio.

Sunday: High of 84, low of 65.
