SAN ANTONIO — Your neighborhood H-E-B is adjusting to the temperature.
The winter weather is causing stores across the state to reduce hours. This comes after a busy weekend that left shelves in some stores empty as people loaded up on supplies.
Spokesperson Julie Bedingfield said they're doing this to keep customers and employees safe throughout the cold snap.
"We have scaled back hours of operation," Bedingfield said. "As of right now, our stores probably won't open until 9 am tomorrow."
She said curbside and delivery will still be an option, but with fewer time slots available.
"That's once again for the safety, not just of the customer, we want you to be safe and really consider if you need to make that trip to the store, but also for our partners as well," Bedingfield said. "You'll be able to see the pickup slots for curbside and home delivery on HEB.com."
If you go in to shop, you may not see as many options as you're used to. Some of your favorite items may take longer than usual to restock, but Bedingfield said they're working on that.
"Some of those unsung heroes are the folks who work in our warehouses, our truck drivers across the state, these are some of the most skilled truck drivers on the roads in Texas, but we want to keep them safe as well," Bedingfield said.
Until then, she's asking for your patience as we ride out the wild winter weather.
"Hopefully by Tuesday, we'll be back to normal."
