HOUSTON — As Tropical Storm Beryl continues to weaken on shore, preliminary rainfall totals and official wind gust speeds are starting to come in across the Houston metro area.
While most of the region saw between 6 and 10 inches of rain the last 24 hours, some communities saw over a foot since Beryl first made landfall as a Category 1 hurricane early Monday morning. It later was downgraded to a tropical storm after several hours over land.
The storm has brought high winds, heavy rainfall and flooding to many areas around the city and has left over 2.5 million customers without power.
Now that Beryl is moving to the north, preliminary rainfall totals over the last 24 hours have began to come in.

- West U Place - 11.68"
- First Colony - 10.80"
- Friendswood - 10.20"
- Mission Bend - 10.12"
Some locations saw sustained rainfall of over an inch per hour for several hours Monday, according to the Harris County Flood Warning System which shares rainfall totals and flooding information for the region.
One location near Dixie Farm Rd and Clear Creek even recorded 2.75 inches of rain in an hour.
These are just preliminary totals and they will continue to be updated as Beryl moves on from the Houston area.
Official wind gust speeds of over 80 mph were recorded in numerous locations in the region, including one recorded gust of over 90 mph in San Bernard.
