SAN ANTONIO — San Antonians may want to keep their sweaters at home this holiday season, because high temperatures on Saturday will most likely make the top 10 list of warmest Christmases on record in San Antonio.
Due to a high pressure, weather will stay dry for the rest of the week and warm air will continue to flow into our region helping our high temperature stay around 83 degrees on Christmas Day.
This will not reach our all time high record of 90 degrees set back in 1955, however it will be close to making our second hottest temperature of 83 degrees set back in 1964. The third warmest Christmas on record was 80 degrees that was last reached in 2016 in San Antonio.
San Antonio is also a couple of degrees near the record set for Christmas Eve when 83 degrees was set back in 1964.
By the time the month comes to an end San Antonians will most likely experience a majority of days in December with above average temperatures. Since Dec. 22, San Antonio has experienced 18 days above average temperatures and Christmas Day is forecasted to be one of the hottest days of December this year.
Rain chances also remain low for the rest of the month.
