SAN ANTONIO — The Rock 'n' Roll Marathon's San Antonio farewell is shaping up to be a soggy affair.
After a cloudy, chilly and damp Tuesday in the Alamo City, residents should prepare for more of the same the rest of this week and into the weekend, when thousands of runners will take to downtown streets. It will mark the last time the Rock 'n' Roll Running Series visits San Antonio for the foreseeable future as the city plans its own signature running event for 2025 and beyond.
Runners and walkers who prefer chilly weather should be happy: The temperature will be hovering around 50 degrees when the 5K and 10K starts at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, and about that cool as well at 7 a.m. Sunday for the start of the marathon and half-marathon.
But both mornings are also expected to bring patchy drizzle and scattered showers across a parched San Antonio region. Heavier rain will stick to the east, where three-plus inches of rain are expected in parts of the Houston area.
