Expect a cold front San Antonians just in time for Christmas Day

Definitely pack a jacket for Christmas morning.

SAN ANTONIO — Get ready San Antonians because weather changes are on the way just in time for Santa's Christmas Eve travels. The Alamo City has been enjoying the warm afternoons and humid conditions but rain and a cold front is scheduled to arrive as we near Christmas morning.

An upper-level low will cause morning drizzle and afternoon showers to develop beginning Friday through Christmas Eve. Cloudy skies and temperatures in the low 70s stay in the forecast until Sunday. Keep the umbrella nearby.

The main activity will be centered over the Alamo City on the morning of Christmas Eve. This is when we have the greatest chance to experience showers and an isolated storm. No severe weather is expected. The good news is shower activity should end by late afternoon so Santa should be in good shape for any late night present deliveries.

As the trough pushes through our area a cold front will move in just in time for Christmas Day. This front will drop high temperatures about 6 degrees to the mid 60s and lows in the 50s. Definitely pack a jacket for Christmas morning.
