SAN ANTONIO — San Antonians get those jackets out of storage as a strong cold front heads to the Alamo City this week.

Our cooler weather is right on schedule as the average time of year for high temperatures to fall below 60 degrees is around Nov. 9.

San Antonio has already been experiencing chilly mornings in the 50s but this cold front will bring a near 20-degree drop to our afternoon high temperatures.

Here's what to expect the next five days:

Wednesday (High 83 and Low 70): Another humid day is in store for San Antonians with mild temperatures in the low 80s. Isolated showers will pop-up through late afternoon. The humidity will continue overnight under partly cloudy skies. Fog development is also possible overnight.

Thursday (High 83 and Low 68): Warm conditions will continue for one more day as a southeasterly flow keeps humid air in the Alamo City. Pockets of fog are also possible once again for the morning.

Veterans Day (High 61 and Low 66): A dreary day is in store with clouds and rain that will push through San Antonio as a cold front arrives by early afternoon. San Antonians will feel this cold front as temperatures drop throughout the day. Rain totals will vary with showers and isolated storms possible. Wind speeds will also pick up bringing gusts over 20 mph. Back a jacket for those football games!

Saturday (High 60 and Low 44): Brrr...cold and dry air will settle in behind the front with high temperatures in the low 60s! Low temperatures will be below normal for the entire weekend in the mid 40s so bring a jacket for those late nights. Showers will also pop-up during the morning.

Sunday (High 60 and Low 40): This will be the coldest morning of the week with some spots in the Hill Country possible hitting their first freeze. San Antonians will wake up to temperatures in the low 40s and high temperatures only a couple degrees warmer than Saturday. The cold air will hang around all day.

Temperatures will trend about 10 degrees below-average through Tuesday of next week with partly cloudy skies and highs only in the low 60s.
