I-90 at Snoqualmie Pass reopens after vehicle spinouts block roadway

WSDOT previously closed both directions of traffic due to snow and vehicle spinouts.

SNOQUALMIE PASS, Wash. — Both directions of Interstate 90 at Snoqualmie Pass have reopened after vehicle spinouts and bad weather conditions closed the roads earlier Saturday night, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

Westbound and eastbound directions of traffic have reopened. 

Previously, traffic was halted just before 7:30 p.m. at Cle Elum milepost 85 to milepost 34 at North Bend. 

Both directions of I-90 at the pass were closed earlier tonight due to snow and multiple vehicle spinouts blocking the roadway, according to WSDOT.

Snow totals in the Cascades are expected to total anywhere from 6 to 12 inches at levels around 1,000-1,500 feet by Saturday night. The National Weather Service forecasted 8 to 14 inches for levels above 2,000 feet.

Snow totals are forecasted to reach 12 to 24 inches at levels above 2,000 for the Cascades in Whatcom and Skagit Counties on Saturday.
