SAN ANTONIO — Weather Impact Alert Days have been issued for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week due to stifling hot temperatures that are close to record highs.

An Ozone Action Day has also been declared for Tuesday, October 1.

According to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), an Ozone Action Day is issued when the weather conditions will likely produce high levels of ozone pollution. This type of pollution happens from the use of cars, power plants, and other sources that react with sunlight.

Viewers are encouraged to spare the air and advised to decrease the use of exhaust emissions of any kind.

Some local schools are urged to keep asthmatic students inside during the school day.
