SAN ANTONIO — The KENS 5 Weather Team has called for Weather Impact Alert Days on Friday as the hottest conditions of the year continue to bake the San Antonio region.

The high heat index values 105° to 109°. A Heat Advisory is in effect until 9 p.m. Friday night.

Upper high is making it hot with max heat index values 105° to 109°.

I don’t see any other impact days beyond today unless rain chances increase around the 26th and the 28th.

What you need to know

Hot late mornings along with elevated evening temperatures could bring an increasing risk for heat related impacts for next week.

This will likely end up being the hottest week of the year.

What does this mean for you?

It is vital that you take precautions if you plan to stay outside for long periods of time over the next several days including staying hydrated, wearing lighter clothes and limiting strenuous activities if possible.

Heat stress is among the leading causes of weather-related deaths, according to the World Health Organization, so you should try to avoid direct exposure to the sun at the hottest hours of the day (between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.).

This is a developing weather event. Refresh the page for the latest updates.
