SANANTONIO-- Mexicana Airlines (Grupo Mexicana) has suspended all service to San Antonio International Airport indefinitely for the immediate future.

That goes for all other U.S. cities as well.

Mexico's Transportation Secretary Juan Francisco Molinar Horcasitas says the debt-ridden carrier has made the decision to stop all operations as of Friday at midnight.

Mexicana filed for bankruptcy protection on Aug. 2. Among the causes cited by the airline are high jet fuel prices and labor costs as well as the economic downturn.
