Mother of Bandera County woman wanted for murder speaks out

"I don't believe she murdered Mr. Isaacks... I have a strong feeling she is not alive," said Debra Long, the mother of Freda Thomas.

BANDERA COUNTY, Texas — We're hearing from the family of Freda Michelle Thomas, who is wanted for the murder of Robert Isaacks in Bandera County.

Debra Long, the mother of Freda Thomas, said she wanted to share her side of the story.

"I question that she's a mysterious woman that no one knew," she said.

Isaacks was first reported missing on Novemeber 15 by his daughter. Two days later his body was found in Crockett County, 180 miles away from his home in Bandera County.

Bandera officials said Isaacks jeep was found abandoned in Las Vegas in mid December.

Ring camera video shows Thomas and Isaacks entering his home on the day he was reported missing. A few hours later, Thomas left alone.

Long, who lives in Oklahoma, said she is cooperating with authorities and is in constant contact with the Texas Rangers.

Long said she doesn't believe the accusations against her daughter, that she is full of love and wouldn't hurt a fly.

"I don't believe she murdered Mr. Isaacks," Long said. "I'm not going to rule out something happened there. I don't know what happened there, that's the puzzle. If you met her, you would love her, that's all I can say. She's just really friendly. She can talk to someone, a homeless person on the street, and she's going to treat you like you're the CEO of Coca-Cola."

Long said she suffered a heart attack on November 12, and last spoke with Michelle the next day, telling her she was going to have surgery. She said there is no way her daughter would have not checked on her.

"She doesn't know if I made it out of the hospital. She don't know how my heart surgery went. I have a strong feeling that she's not alive," Long said.

Long said if her daughter does see this, she has a message for her.

"I'd tell her to come home and we'll work this out. We'll get an attorney and do what we have to do, but come home," she said.
