Second suspect arrested in UTSA-area club shooting

One person was killed and three others hurt when a dispute erupted in gunfire on May 18 outside Privat Social Club.

SAN ANTONIO — Another arrest has been made six months after gunfire erupted outside Privat Social Club on the northwest side, killing one person and injuring three others.

The San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) says 19-year-old Seth Rockett was taken into custody on multiple felony warrants, including murder. He's accused of shooting towards a group of individuals that had gathered outside the UTSA Boulevard club around 1:30 a.m. on May 18 before fleeing the scene.

Seth Rockett was arrested on Nov. 20, 2023, in connection with a May 2023 shooting that left one dead and others hurt outside a UTSA-area club.

A 34-year-old man, Noah Patterson, was previously arrested on murder and aggravated assault charges in connection with the incident, which prompted City Council member Manny Pelaez to call for Privat – the source of dozens of police calls this year alone, including several for in-progress shootings – to be shut down

Devon Jordan King, a 20-year-old Corpus Christi man who was living in San Antonio at the time, was killed in the shooting.

Landry reacted to the news of Rockett's arrest on social media, writing: "Thank God!!! Justice for my son Devon King!!!!"

In a statement to KENS 5 on Monday, Landry added: "I'm thankful for them apprehending the suspect and I hope and pray that he is convicted and sentenced with long punishment for all his charges."

SAPD said the United States Marshals assisted in taking Rockett into custody. He's behind bars in Bexar County on bonds totaling $375,000.
