SAN ANTONIO — Two UTSA football players are no longer apart of the program after aggravated robbery incident(s) got them arrested.
Former defensive lineman Nick Booker-Brown was arrested on June 13 for his alleged involvement in an aggravated robbery that took place on Feb. 3.
Just five days later, former linebacker for the Roadrunners Corey Lucius Jr. was arrested for his alleged involvement in an aggravated robbery that took place the same day as Booker-Brown's incident.
Officials have not confirmed if the crimes are related or not, but court documents show both players' charges stem from incidents that took place on the same day: Feb. 3.
On Wednesday, UTSA's Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Dr. Lisa Campos & UTSA head football coach Jeff Traylor released the following statement:
“Nick Booker-Brown and Corey Lucius Jr. are no longer members of the UTSA football program. We have high expectations of conduct for all of our student-athletes, coaches and staff, and we will never compromise on those expectations. We are looking forward to the start of preseason practice on July 31 with an excellent group of young men in our football program.”
Neither Booker-Brown or Lucius have been formally charged as of this writing.
