CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Nueces County Sheriff's Office initiated a traffic stop on Thursday afternoon that resulted in the seizure of more of 50 bundles of methamphetamine worth more than $100,000.
Deputies initially made the stop while conducting traffic interdiction operations on Hwy. 77 at approximately 3:15 p.m.
Authorities said they pulled over the tractor trailer rig for an equipment violation.
Sgt. Rudy Gonzales and his canine partner Hera conducted an open-air search before Hera made an alert on the trailer.
Upon additional investigation and a search of the trailer, deputies located and seized 50 bundles of methamphetamine totaling 118 lbs. with a street value of $107,000.
The NCSO says this is an ongoing investigation.
