Road closures expected ahead of filming for critically acclaimed TV series in downtown SA

City officials say the closures along Broadway will begin September 16 and are expected to end on or before September 27.

SAN ANTONIO — As city officials prepare to facilitate areas of downtown San Antonio to accommodate the filming of parts of the anticipated second season of the Paramount+ original series “1923” – drivers should plan ahead for upcoming road closures impacting daily commutes.

The City of San Antonio’s Department of Arts & Culture anticipates varying closures along Broadway and Peacock Alley starting September 16 until September 27.

The anticipated schedule of closures is as follows:

September 16-18

  • Broadway between E Pecan Street and E Houston Street, closed to vehicular traffic

  • Peacock Alley between Jefferson Street and N Alamo Street, closed to vehicular traffic

  • E Travis Street between Jefferson Street and N Alamo Street, closed to vehicular traffic

  • Broadway between E Pecan Street and 3rd Street, northbound traffic only

September 19

  • Sidewalks on Broadway between E Pecan Street and E Houston Street will be closed during morning filming, estimated to reopen by the afternoon

  • Broadway between E Pecan Street and E Houston Street, closed to vehicular traffic

  • Peacock Alley between Jefferson Street and N Alamo Street, closed to vehicular traffic

  • E Travis Street between Jefferson Street and N Alamo Street, closed to vehicular traffic

  • Broadway between E Pecan Street and 3rd Street, northbound traffic only

  • Businesses remain open and accessible, except for the morning of September 19

September 20-25

  • Broadway between E Pecan Street and E Houston Street, closed to vehicular traffic

  • Peacock Alley between Jefferson Street and N Alamo Street, closed to vehicular traffic

  • E Travis Street between Jefferson Street and N Alamo Street, closed to vehicular traffic

  • Broadway between E Pecan Street and 3rd Street, northbound traffic only

The city says filming closure areas will be fully restored and all services will resume normal operations by or before September 27.
