SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio International Airport (SAT) took to social media Monday to celebrate a record-breaking Spring Break.
Airport officials estimated about 347,140 passengers flew in and out of the airport from March 8-17. That’s up 10% from the 2023 Spring Break period, according to SAT.
Additionally, the airport says the record for their busiest day ever was also broken on March 8, with an estimated 41,632 passengers.
Previously, the airport's busiest single day was July 31, 2023, when 41,560 passengers traveled through the airport.
These record-breaking numbers come during a period of rapid growth for the airport. SAT recently unveiled a new brand, marking a significant milestone in the airport’s history, and in May it will begin its first direct international flights to Frankfurt, Germany.
Meanwhile, construction continues on a $1.4 billion terminal that will effectively double its current size.
