Woman still seeking answers in her mother's unsolved murder case from 2019

As of today, no one has been arrested. Norma Pacheco's daughter Lori Cantu is still filled with the same tears and pain.

BEXAR COUNTY, Texas — A San Antonio woman is still in the same fight of seeking answers in her mother's unsolved killing. In June 2019, the Bexar County Sheriff's Office had identified the body found, earlier that year, as Norma Pacheco's.  BCSO said she was badly burned and dumped in a field near Government Canyon.

As of today, no one has been arrested. Pacheco's daughter Lori Cantu is still filled with the same tears and pain.

"I miss her," she said. "Like Mother's Day just passed, and I wanted to be able to tell her she's the best mom I could have ever asked for."

Five years ago, Sheriff Javier Salazar revealed a little bit of insight of how Pacheco was found.

"The body was very badly burned and badly decomposed," he said.

However to this day, BCSO has not really said what happened to the mother.

"I want her to be able to be at peace, so I can be at peace," Cantu said.

Cantu said the family is still not at peace and said there hasn't been any breaks in the case.

"I just feel really lost about it," she said.

At one point, the sheriff posted photos of two men and said they were persons of interest in the case. However, BCSO tells KENS 5 they are no longer wanted.

"Why not speak up and say something, that could be your mom," she said.

Cantu who also lost her father to murder said she will continue to be a voice for both her parents. She vows to not stop

"I couldn't forgive myself if I gave up at all," she said. "I know she wouldn't give up on us."

Cantu pleads with anyone with information to speak up and contact BCSO. The sheriff's office also reported another person of interest has been identified in the case, and said the investigation continues.
