Whether you are travelling to the path of totality or watching the eclipse from the comfort of your own home, KENS 5 has everything you need to know ahead of the April 8 total solar eclipse, as well as live coverage Monday before, during and after the eclipse.

On Monday, KENS 5 will be providing live team coverage of the eclipse from 1 to 2 p.m. on KENS5.com, the KENS 5 YouTube page, the KENS 5 Facebook page, and the KENS 5+ app, available on Fire TV, Roku and Apple TV. A livestream of the eclipse itself also will be available to be viewed. Then watch for a special edition of KENS 5 News on TV with a recap of the eclipse starting at 2:30 p.m.

Schools and Colleges
School districts in the Texas Hill Country are closing schools on Monday, April 8, for the eclipse. Some of them are concerned about traffic and safety of students with an influx of crowds expected into the area. See our full list of districts and colleges closing April 8.

Festivals and events
Kerrville festival
The city of Kerrville in the middle of the path of totality, with over four minutes of total solar eclipse for people there to enjoy. Tourism officials have anticipated at least 100,000 people from across the country and around the world will flood Kerrville for the celestial event.
