SAN ANTONIO — For the second straight season, the San Antonio Spurs brought NBA hoops to the capital of Texas, Austin.
For the entire "Spurs Week," the Spurs gave Austin a fan fest outside of the Moody Center, player appearances, two games, and more to let Austin residents know they are a part of the Silver and Black family.
Here is a sample of the sights and sounds from Austin.
THE MOODY CENTER GETS SPURRED
Upon entering the Moody Center, the concourses were decorated in all things Spurs.
Along the walls were photos of the players, and you could not escape that the games in Austin were home games for San Antonio.
Fans wore Spurs jerseys, and the team brought the Moody Center, the same home court used at the Frost Bank Center.
The team also had exclusive merchandise for fans who bought ticket packages and Austin-Spurs-themed gear for all fans.
THE GAMES
The Spurs hosted the Denver Nuggets and Brooklyn in Austin, and the team recreated the same atmosphere as San Antonio.
As with former players, the team gave Keita Bates-Diop a tribute for his time with the team ahead of the Nets game.
Former Spur and Longhorn basketball legend LaMarcus Aldridge was in attendance
Though the team lost to the defending champions, the Spurs and Nets gave the Moody crowd a thrilling overtime game, with the Spurs coming out on top.
KELDON JOHNSON APPRECIATES THE AUSTIN FANS
With the game against the Nets on the line, the Moody Center crowd was in the game, pulling for San Antonio to come out on top.
The fans were up and off their seats, cheering loudly as the Spurs won over the Nets.
And Keldon Johnson had nothing but love for the Austin fans who helped the Spurs win.
"It was electric. I feel like the past two years, whether we are in Austin or San Antonio, it's really big, and they really boost us to get over that edge. Every time we step in Moody or the Frost, it is just a crazy atmosphere," he said.
MOODY CENTER ATTENDANCE RECORD, AGAIN!
Simply put, the Spurs set another attendance record at Moody.
