Austin Spurs get a new head coach; Another player is added to the roster

Spurs bring in Brandon Boston Jr. to training camp.

SAN ANTONIO — According to a report from ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the San Antonio Spurs are hiring New York Knicks player development coach Scott King as the new head coach of the team's G League affiliate, Austin Spurs.

King started his NBA career with the Detroit Pistons for the 2018-19 season as a video intern. He also was part of basketball operations for the G League's Fort Wayne Mad Ants (2017-18).

In 2022, he had an altercation with Knicks' Julius Randle during a Lakers game when King tried to show him a video during a time-out. Randle slapped the computer and got into a heated exchange before the pair had to be separated by the team.

SPURS INK NEW PLAYER

According to the team's roster page, the Spurs continue to add to the roster, signing former Los Angeles Clippers guard Brandon Boston Jr.

Boston played 32 games for the Clippers last season, averaging 5.2 points, 1.6 rebounds, 0.4 assists, and 0.3 steals per game.

He was selected as the 51st pick of the 2021 draft.
