Here's a sample of what the teams said after the game.
SPURS
Coach Gregg Popovich:
"Great game I couldn't be more proud of the group. We did a lot of great things and a lot of people played well. What I wanted was a different call where Giannis got a three-point play but sometimes the calls go for you and sometimes they go against you and you got to live with it."
Johnson:
"It's nice the highlights but ultimately we go out there to play to win. It sucks letting one go towards the end like that. We'll get back tomorrow, look at some film, and see what we could've done better to put us over the edge. We played pretty well as a whole group. It was definitely a team effort. We played good, we fought and we just came up a little short."
Vassell:
"At the end of the day, we just got to win. That's a great game from everybody. Everybody played their butts off. A couple of plays here, a couple of plays there it could have been a different game. We just got to watch some film and learn how to close out a game."
Wembanyama:
"We did start the first couple of minutes a little bit slow. I'm glad we got it back together. During the game, it's (the third period) one of our main focus points in the locker room. We know we've been bad in the third quarter before and it's one of our focus points."
