SAN ANTONIO — It begins!
The San Antonio Spurs will tip off their 2023-24 regular season with a visit from in-state rival Dallas on Wednesday night. San Antonio's home opener will also mark the official start of the Victor Wembanyama era.
WEMBANYAMA IS READY
"This one feels unreal even more. Maybe a month ago I thought that some preseason games would prepare me for that moment, and (the season-opener) would be like just another game, but it feels totally different," the Spurs' prized rookie said Tuesday afternoon. Just the fact that it's an actual NBA regular season game, it is different. Feeling lucky as always, but also focused, locked in. We know what we've got to do, and a good way to start is with a win."
INJURY REPORT
The Spurs' Zach Collins is questionable (illness/injury) and Devonte Graham is out (league suspension).
Mavericks star Luka Doncic is questionable (left calf strain), as are Jaden Hardy (left ankle sprain) and Dwight Powell (illness).
