SAN ANTONIO β When local digital artist Adrian Galvan shared his concept of a Fred's Fish Fry-San Antonio mock Spurs jersey mashup, the design went viral.
Spurs fans were demanding the concept become reality and a pair of online stores met the fan demand.
The first to give what the fans wanted was Bexar County Social Apparel.
The online store, owned by San Antonio's Michael Baez, features the hilarious Spurs-Fred's Fish mashup on glassware, shorts, joggers, tee shirts, and more.
Baez says the items are selling fast and are receiving praise from fans eager to show off their Spurs and "puro" San Antonio pride reflected in the San Antonio fast-food spot staple.
"After we all witnessed greatness with the fan-inspired Fred's City Edition jersey, customers came to us to make custom shirts for them. We're for the people and we delivered," Baez said.
Also getting in on the act is the online jersey store, Wade and Williamson.
They teamed up with the original artist to create a real jersey that fans demanded appropriately calling it the "Fish Fry" jersey. The cost for one is $59.99.
According to the store, it'll be available until Friday, Nov. 17 at 8:00 pm CST or until they are sold out. It also serves as a way to help Galvan continue to make jersey designs San Antonio would love to own.
Galvan says he was inspired to make the design based on the new Spurs City Edition jerseys have a familiar color scheme like another local popular food spot: Bill Miller BBQ.
