Frost Bank Center ranked last among NBA arenas; Spurs announce Gunn Auto Group as official naming rights partner of the park at The Rock at La Cantera

An ESPN NBA arena ranking was not kind to the home of the Spurs.

SAN ANTONIO — The Frost Bank Center, the home of the San Antonio Spurs, did not fare well in a recent ESPN ranking of all NBA arenas.

Specifically, it was ranked dead last in the league at 29 with the Clippers' new arena, the Intuit Dome, following the Spurs but was given an "incomplete."

ESPN points out that the arena is too far from downtown San Antonio and that food and concessions are also ranked low among other NBA arenas.

"It's stationed far from downtown San Antonio, with voters ranking it last in accessibility. Food and concessions were also ranked the lowest," wrote ESPN.

The ranking has some hope for the Frost Bank Center to rise, stating that the fan experience is improving.

"But fan experience, despite being ranked 21st, should be on the rise, as Spurs fans are some of the most loyal in the league."

The Spurs did some remodeling of the arena over the offseason.

The main Spurs fan Shop on the concourse level got a much-needed makeover. The team added smaller fan shops and more local restaurants to capture the essence of San Antonio cuisine.

Of course, there is plenty of scuttlebutt about a possible new Spurs arena in downtown San Antonio, which may help boost the arena's ranking in the future.
