Hall of Famer calls the Spurs the best in Texas; Kevin Garnett shares his thoughts on Chris Paul teaming with Wembanyama

This Basketball Hall of Famer states that the Alamo City is a great basketball town.

SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Spurs share the NBA Texas landscape with the Dallas Mavericks and Houston Rockets.

But which team is the best in Texas?

According to former Spurs guard George Karl, the answer is simple: It is San Antonio.

The Basketball Hall of Famer recently posted on X that the Spurs are the best team in the state and that San Antonio is one of the "great basketball towns in the world."

He might be a bit biased, considering he played for the Spurs from 1973-78 and then served as an assistant coach from 1978-80, but he has a point.

If we're keeping NBA titles as the scoreboard, the Spurs win with five championships to Dallas' one and Houston's two.

KEVIN GARNETT WEIGHS IN ON CP3 JOINING THE SPURS, WEMBNAYAMA

Kevin Garnett spoke about Chris Paul coming to San Antonio and joining forces with Victor Wembanyama.

In a nutshell, he feels Wemby will get easier baskets with Paul as his running mate.

"Last year, he didn't get any easy baskets," Garnett said. "Playing with Chris Paul, he's going to get some easier baskets. Look for San Antonio to be more organized."

Paul will impact Wemby's life on the court and the Spurs roster.
