Report: San Antonio acquires Harrison Barnes in three-team deal with Bulls and Kings

The Spurs add more veteran presence to the young roster.

SAN ANTONIO — According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the San Antonio Spurs have acquired veteran forward Harrison Barnes in a three-way deal with the Kings and Bulls.

In additon, Kings will also send the Spurs a 2031 unprotected pick swap.

"The Sacramento Kings are acquiring free agent guard DeMar DeRozan via a three-year, $74 million sign-and-trade that includes moving forward Harrison Barnes to the San Antonio Spurs, sources told ESPN on Saturday."

The report also states that the Spurs will take Barnes into their remaining cap space to facilitate this deal.

Last season, Barnes averaged 12.2 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game. He connected on 47.4% from the field and 38.7% from the three-point range in 82 games.

He should add more veteran know-how (after reportedly signing  NBA veteran point guard Chris Paul), a great locker room presence, playoff experience, and help open space on the court for Victor Wembanyama.
