San Antonio Spurs' Coyote's 2014 championship ring sells for over $34K at auction

The original Coyote put up for auction his 2014 Spurs championship ring and netted a nice financial return.

SAN ANTONIO — In case you didn't know, Tim Derk - the original San Antonio Spurs' Coyote performer - was featured in Netflix's "King of Collectibles: The Goldin Touch" reality show.

He served as the Coyote for 21 years, and now that he's retired, he approached the collectible company to see if he could auction his 2014 Spurs championship ring.

Goldin accepted the challenge of selling his ring and recently had it up for auction, and the final price is a whopper.

The ring sold for $34,770.00, which should bring a big smile to the former Coyote.

This isn't the first time Goldin has sold some Spurs collectibles.

The company recently sold franchise legend Tim Duncan's Spurs jersey, which he wore in the 2013 NBA Finals.

And despite the Spurs coming up short in the championship against Miami, it did not deter the bidder. The final winning bid was a whopping $34,160.

In addition, Victor Wembanyama's Spurs jersey, which he wore on his birthday, fetched $120,000 at a Sotheby's auction.

It was the top-selling item in Sotheby’s lot and shattered the pre-sale estimates at $30,000-$50,000.
