SAN ANTONIO — According to RealGM, the San Antonio Spurs have renounced the rights to players Cedi Osman and Dominick Barlow.
In addition, a report shows the team also renounced the rights to David Duke Jr. and Sandro Mamukelashvili.
If true, then both Mamu and Duke. Jr.'s recent qualifying offers were pulled (RealGM still has the pair as restricted free agents), making them unrestricted free agents.
Making Mamu an unrestricted free agent is interesting, considering how much his late-season play made the Spurs consider retaining him.
His play to close the season made coach Gregg Popovich consider whether the team should bring him back next season.
“We definitely have to have that discussion,” said Gregg Popovich. “I’ve said it before: He really knows how to play.”
He recorded a career-high in several statistical categories, including points per game (4.1), rebounds (3.2), assists (1.1), and field goal percentage (47%).
Note the team can still re-sign any of the players at a later date. This is mainly due to accommodating Chris Paul and Harrison Barnes' contracts into the team's financial cap space.
What could happen next will be Charles Bassey and Julian Champagnie. Both are on non-guaranteed deals.
WEMBANYAMA OUT AGAINST TEAM GERMANY
Team France will be without Victor Wembanyama in their next exhibition game versus Germany on July 8.
The team reported he is ill and will sit out the contest.
Wembanyama and Team France recently beat Germany 90-66. He scored 25 points and five rebounds to lead France to the win.
