Spurs reportedly targeting veteran Batum; Team releases 2024 Summer League squad roster

Could the Spurs bring in another veteran on the young roster?

SAN ANTONIO — There will be some Silver and Black action to enjoy this summer and a chance to see the rookies - Stephon Castle and Harrison Ingram - on the court.

The San Antonio Spurs have released their 2024 Summer League team, which will play in the California Classic and the Las Vegas Leagues.

Sidy Cissoko, Austin Spurs' David Duke Jr., RaiQuan Gray, and Jameer Nelson Jr. will join Castle and Ingram.

Coach Kenny Trevino will lead the team, while rookie Juan Nunez will not be on the roster due to Olympic commitments with Team Spain.

The Spurs will participate in the annual Vegas summer event and play five games, including four from July 12 to 19.

San Antonio will tip off against the Blazers on July 13 at 7 p.m. CT. The game will be featured on ESPN 2.

The team's second game will be against the Hawks and Zaccharie Risacher on July 14 at 7 p.m. CT on ESPN 2.

If true, the Spurs will add another veteran presence (and Victor Wembanyama's French countryman) on the young roster after reportedly signing guard Chris Paul.

Note that NBA writer Marc Stein reports that the Clippers are a "strong" team to ink Batum.
