Victor Wembanyama stars in NBA season tip-off hype video; Spurs team up with Barcode performance water

Wembanyama and other NBA stars are getting fans hyped for the new NBA season.

SAN ANTONIO — With the start of the NBA 2024-25 season just weeks away, the league is getting fans ready with a tip-off hype video featuring San Antonio Spurs' Victor Wembanyama and other NBA stars.

The video also features Bam Adebayo, Luka Dončić, Anthony Edwards, former Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard, and Jayson Tatum.

The video starts with Leonard and Edwards at the center circle when Adebayo, Dončić, and Tatum appear.

Wembanyama (and a fan wearing his jersey) then appear to join players and fans at center court to jump for the ball.

If you listen carefully, former Spurs TV broadcaster Bill Land will yell, "OH, MAMA, WEMBANYAMA!"

Check out the official video and a behind-the-scenes look at how it all came together.

Fans can celebrate the start of the season by wearing their favorite NBA jersey and sharing it on social media on Monday, Oct. 21, for the chance to be featured on league and team social media channels as part of the fifth annual NBA Jersey Day.

SPURS AND BARCODE TEAM UP

Spurs announced plant-based performance water Barcode as the team’s exclusive performance water.

And in case you did not know, Wembanyama is Barcode's face of its brand and an investor.

Barcode will be represented in bench equipment at all Spurs home games, including bottles, coolers, and towels. It will also serve as the presenting partner of the Spurs Human Performance x Equity program and co-presenting partner of Spurs Sports Academy Summer Camps, in addition to digital and social programming throughout the season.

The Spurs also announced that Barcode will serve as San Antonio FC's official performance water.

“This partnership represents our continued commitment to grow Barcode globally and to provide world class athletes with a premium hydration offering,” said Mubarak “Bar” Malik, CEO and founder of Barcode in a release. “We’re thrilled to partner with the Spurs and further our shared commitment to provide the very best to not only Wemby but the entire Spurs franchise,” Malik continued.
