4-year-old killed in attack on Windsor Hollow home identified

Bexar County authorities continue to follow potential leads on suspects more than a week after a family of five was attacked.

SAN ANTONIO — The youngest victim shot by gunmen who targeted a northwest Bexar County townhome on the evening of May 8 has been identified by the medical examiner as authorities continue looking for the shooters.

Mary Ann Marble was pronounced dead hours after she, her two young brothers and their parents were shot while inside their home in the 6700 block of Windsor Hollow, authorities said. A nurse's assistant who lives in the neighborhood rushed to the family's aid in the moments after two shooters wearing masks and dark clothes hopped out of a car, opened fire on the home from the driveway and sped off.

Law enforcement said an estimated 30 rounds were fired from AK-47-style guns.

The other victims have yet to be identified. The parents are 25 and 27 years old, while the two children still recovering were 7 and 8 at the time of the shooting.

As of Wednesday, the boys remained hospitalized but were no longer using breathing tubes, relatives told KENS 5. The family has set up a verified GoFundMe for donations.

"She was a beautiful angel," Mary Ann's grandfather, Hector Castillo, told KENS 5. "Since day one I saw her, I knew something was special about her. I don't wish this on nobody."

An ongoing search

The Bexar County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) is leading the search for the suspects, but little information about them has been shared publicly. A stolen silver Infiniti they're believed to have used in the attack was found on the west side in the following days.

"We're working around the clock still. Leads are still continuing to come in," Sheriff Javier Salazar said Thursday, more than a week after the shooting.

BCSO is encouraging anyone who might know or saw something to contact them at (210) 335-6000 or by emailing bcsotips@bexar.org. Salazar said no tip is too small or insignificant.

“I don’t want people to assume, ‘Well, I know this information, someone else must have called them by now, so I’m not going to bother,'" he said. "If you’re giving us information that somebody else has already given us, that tends to corroborate things for us."

Crime Stoppers is offering $5,000 for information leading to arrests in the case. Salazar has said he plans to pursue capital murder charges if and when the suspects are in custody.
