Spurs' Victor Wembanyama, Team Pau eliminated in opening round; Sochan, Team Jalen win the Rising Stars title

Wembanyama and Team Pau were stunned in the opening round game against G League stars.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio Spurs' Victor Wembanyama and Jeremy Sochan took part in the 2024 NBA Rising Stars Game and gave fans exciting moments in the tournament.

Here's how the pair of Spurs rising stars did at the event.

Wembanyama:

The rookie center and Team Pau had a short run, losing to Team Detlef and G League stars, 41-36.

Wemby logged 11 minutes, recorded 11 points, two blocks, five turnovers, and shot 83% from the field.

Wembanyama will next participate in the NBA Skills Challenge on All-Star Saturday night. He'll be joined by past top picks: Anthony Edwards and Paolo Banchero.

Sochan:

Sochan went scoreless in Team Jalen's opening-round win over Team Tamika. He played six minutes and grabbed two rebounds in the 40-35 win.

Team Jalen advanced to the finals against Team Detlef and defeated the G League squad 26-13.

The Spurs sophomore finished 0-2 from the field in three minutes played.

Indiana's Ben Mathurin was named the event's MVP.

Spurs' Dominick Barlow will participate in the G-League "Next Up" game on Sunday, Feb. 18, at 12:30 CT on nbagleague.com. He will be on Team Strictly.
